I am a poet and editor living in Santa Cruz CA. Thank you for visiting my little corner of the world.

Farnaz Fatemi is an Iranian-American poet, editor and writing teacher. She has taught at the University of California, Santa Cruz since 1997. Her current work investigates her own experience of Iran (specifically, Iranian women) as it encounters a received iconography from popular and political culture. Recent poems or lyric essays have appeared in Tupelo Quarterly, Comstock Review, Delaware Poetry Review, Squaw Valley Review, Catamaran Literary Reader, Ekphrastic (nominated for a Pushcart), and Red Wheelbarrow. Her poems and prose have been anthologized in In Plein Air, Let Me Tell You Where I've Been: New Writing by Women of the Iranian Diaspora and Love and Pomegranates: Artists and Wayfarers on Iran. She loves word games, and in the late summer you can find her cheering for the Oakland A’s and raising heirloom tomatoes.
